So after my 3rd day of trying to see a movie with moviepass (moviepass would show the movie available in the morning, but by noon, it was not longer available, so today I bought my ticket early), I was finally able to watch movie #156 The Grinch. A modern retelling of how the Grinch stole Christmas. This was a cute movie, but not as good as the original or the Jim Carrey version. Although this was a cute movie, it seemed more like a made for TV movie, then a theatrical feature film. The animation was very good, and the story was updated a bit for modern times, but the Grinch didn’t seem to be that much of a grinch where his heart grew 3 times. He seems to have a heart for his dog, and a couple others. Speaking about Max the dog, his expressions where great, you knew what he was thinking without him speaking. I felt that this film was more tailored for a younger audience, and I’m not a big animation fan so I think kids will like it more than adults. It does have some fun Christmas songs both old and new and an overall good message that Christmas is not about material things. If you are a big Dr. Seuss or Grinch fan, and you have little kids, then you may want to see it, but if not, I might wait to stream it.
