Watched movie #150 A Simple Favor. A mommy video blogger starts to investigate what happened to her new best friend who goes missing. I liked this movie, it was a strange mixture of comedy and thriller. Anna Kendrick does an amazing job in this movie, and kind of steals the show. She movies from good girl to bad girl back to good girl, and makes you wonder who she really is in the movie. The movie kind of reminded me of an old film noir from back in the 40’s with a modern twist. Sometimes the comedy seems a little too much for the story, but there are some great one-liners in the movie. Was this a great movie, no, but it was a fun thriller with some interesting, very flawed characters. It is rated R, so the language was a little harsh at times and there are some adult themes. If you like mystery thrillers or Anna Kendrick or Blake Lively then I would check it out, or at least stream it.
