Watched movie #149 Planet of the Apes from 1968, the 50th anniversary of this movie. Three astronauts crash land on a planet ruled by Apes who talk, while humans are mute and treated as animals. I loved this movie when i saw it as a kid in the 70s on TV, and have seen it multiple times, but never on the Big screen. It was fun to see little things that you can’t really see on tv, and even though i have seen it multiple times it was still fun and interesting. Some of the lines are a little outdated, but the story still plays well for people who have never seen it, although some of the scenes like crossing the forbidden zone are a little long for today’s audience. This is one of my all time favorites, as i have the movie poster in my movie room, and still have my planet of the apes trash can that i got for Christmas in the 70s. This movie started 4 sequels, two TV shows, one live action and one animated, a remake and 3 prequels which of course i have seen them all. Although it is based on the book by Pierre Boulle, Rod Serling from the twilight zone, co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Wilson. If you like science fiction, then i would check it out.
