Watched movie #130 Eighth Grade. Socially awkward thirteen year old Kayla makes her way through the last week of middle school, while enduring the issues of adolescence in the social media age. I liked some of this movie and some I did not. The acting of the main star Elsie Fisher was amazing, it seemed so real, like she was living it and not reading a script. I wouldn’t be surprised if she show up in a mainstream movie soon. This movie is rated R and had some adult themed scenes that I did not find appropriate for a thirteen year old to watch, so i would not let my underaged child see this, but if you do, make sure you also watch it so you can have a discussion with them about the scenes, or wait till it plays on tv, which may edit the scenes. I’m just glad i don’t have to relive 8th grade.
