Watched movie #73 First Reformed. A pastor of a small church in NY is changed after an encounter with an environmentalist and his pregnant wife. This movie started out good, the plot was interesting and the acting by Ethan Hawke was very good, then the plot started to shift, first with a bazaar dream sequence that seemed out of place. Then it seemed like a completely different script that was building tension toward the end, then a bazaar ending. I don’t understand what the writer was trying to say with the ending, it was leading towards a possible shocking ending, but instead it just ended in a strange way. I would not recommend this movie, unless you like strange endings and in that case i would wait until it is on cable so you don’t have to pay for it.
